Spay/Neuter Eligibility Requirements

To ensure the safety and well-being of your pet during spay or neuter procedures, the following eligibility criteria must be met:

  • Age and Health: Pets must be healthy and between 3 months and 8 years old.

  • Weight: Pets must weigh a minimum of 2 pounds.

  • Pregnancy Status: Pregnant pets are not eligible for spaying.

  • Postpartum Pets: Pets must be at least 8 weeks postpartum before undergoing spaying.

  • Cats in Heat: Cats can be safely spayed while in heat.

  • Dogs in Heat: Dogs in heat should wait at least 4 weeks after the heat cycle is complete before undergoing spaying.

  • Breed Considerations: All dog breeds are eligible for spaying or neutering. However, certain breeds may have a higher surgical risk. If your pet’s breed is considered higher risk, our team will contact you to discuss any additional precautions or considerations.

If you have any questions about your pet’s eligibility or specific needs, our team is here to help guide you through the process.
